The Duhamel Education Initiative held a End of Summer Bash and Fundraiser at Daddy Jones on Saturday, September 14th.  Many people came out to celebrate and support the great work that Somerville Public School Teachers are doing through DEI mini grants to keep their students engaged in their learning and provide the skills that they need to achieve any goal that they set out to do!

Because of your support, we were able to raise $1710. This money will go towards funding mini grants for Somerville Public School teachers.  Applications for these grants opened in early September and are due by Friday, October 4th.  If you are interested in applying for a grant, please visit  For Educators.

Thank you  to Dimitra Murphy, owner of Daddy Jones, who generously provided the space and all the food and beverages for this event.   The outdoor patio setting was beautiful and the refreshments were outstanding! 

Thank you to Dave Scott, East Somerville Community School Dad and Professor at the Berkeley School of Music, who organized the live entertainment and performed in the jazz trio.   The music was fabulous and made the event even more special!
